The wine bottle shattering against the wall is what caused her to truly realize the severity of what has transpired. She hesitated for only a moment, her eyes on the wine dripping down the wall. That moment was a moment too long, when she fled outside of the inn he was no longer there. She frantically looked both ways, but she could not see which way he had left. She assumed that perhaps he used magic to go quicker, since it was apparent he was furious with her.
She took a deep breath, and headed straight to their room. She followed him there one night a week ago, and had not returned home ever since. He was not there. She didn't expect him to be, but she had to check. She then suddenly heard quiet words spoken in the room next to hers. The room that was occupied by Emiliana and Ulrich.
She knocked quickly and loudly, trying to hurry to get their attention. They immediately questioned her upon her entrance, but she didn't answer.
"Emiliana, are you able to locate a person?" She asked the other woman, her voice strained.
"Yes, but it might not work." Was the other woman's reply. And it did not work. He was either in a place that was warded, or he himself was warded against it. Before they could ask anymore questions she quickly exited the room and went back into her shared one, changing into her armor.
She searched for what seemed like hours, but had no luck. Defeated, she went back to their room and waited. She waited there for hours as well, staring out the window in hopes of seeing him. He entered without her knowing, she lost in her own thoughts. He hesitated for a long time, watching her. After she finally noticed him, he was about to leave.
"Please, don't leave." She begged him, reaching out to him. They had a long talk, and it was then she finally realized then that she loved him. She wanted to be with him, and go with him despite the risks she knew that would happen. And finally, he expressed his own love for her.
"I love you, Aurora. We will get through this, we will endure." And she wanted desperately to believe him.
