  • The Dragon's Shrine

// OOC: I fully expect posts in this thread. See Below

The Second Wind inn. A popular meeting place for adventurers of all stripes, located near the Sharahan Hills and just south of the Exigo Trading Post.

The fire burning outside the Inn is commonly the one centered around the most, but recently, a second has been burning to the south.

Past the trees, and over a tumbled down log bridge that has recently been patched up and reinforced with some crude rope and stone supports, a fire often burns. Sometimes it is a great roaring bonfire, other times the dying embers of a simple cooking flame.

One stepping across the log would clearly notice the place has seen repeated use as a camp, and judging by the few animal carcasses piled in a corner, by someone who holds less than total importance in cleanliness and civility. Any druids would likely be glad to note that almost all the parts of the dead animals has seen use, all the fur skinned, all the meat eaten, and most of the strong bone taken for tools, wasting very little.

The most prominent feature of the camp, however, is the firepit and the wall in front of it. The much-used firepit is a pile of burnt-out wood surrounded by the black ashes of dead fires, with a small logpile underneath a crude shelter to keep the wood dry for future fires. It might be lit, or dying, or already burnt out.

In front of the firepit is a rockface. Upon it, a painting that whilst in darkness appears rather bland, becomes a vibrant, inspiring image when lit by the firelight, the golden paints and rich colours turning the simple image into one that lights a fire in the imaginations of most.

It is a painting of a dragon. Those versed in the ways of the Wyrms
(OOC: Very high Lore (20+ ranks or a check of 35), Knowledge: Arcana (10 ranks or a roll of 25), or an overriding IC reason) would recognise from the appearance that it appears to be a Gold Dragon, seen as the most noble race of them, relentless hunters of evil, protectors of the innocent, and the paladins of the Draconic race.

At times, the half-blood girl is seen sleeping between the fire and the painting.

//OOC: This thread can be used for any actions done at the shrine that would be noticed. If you want to encounter me whilst sleeping (for any nefarious and/or perverted reason) then send me a tell in-game, and I'll happily roll up there as long as the reason is a bit more RP-inducing than 'I want to stab you in your sleep, loot you, then leave.'.

// Bear in mind that though it's only a small shrine, it still has religious meaning and hence defiling it wouldn't be taken lightly. Though Gods rarely will pop down and Smiteth a person who defiles their shrine, it's a risk only the extremely opposed (e.g a Bhaalite defiling a Shrine to Tyr) or extremely foolish are willing to take.
Running across the mountains, attacking with an oversized scalpel, cometh Helga Great-Wyrm! And she gives a mighty bellow:
"Brace yourself, oh human speck of dust! You are made of meat and I am very hungry!"
