Paizo has recently announced its Pathfinder RPG system, an OGL-based system trying to stay true to DnD 3.5.
They are offering free downloads of the alpha ruleset.
It isn't radically different, but they seem to be attempting to fix the majority of 3.5's inherent system flaws.
